This non-accredited course runs from City Skills Centre, each Monday, 12:15pm – 2:45pm for 9 weeks, starting on 17 November finishing on 27 January 2026.
This is a course for people who have completed Small Craft for beginners 1 or for people with some experience crafting at home. All materials will be provided.
During this course, you will learn:
- How to use personalised designs to upcycle small and larger items to create decorative pieces
- How to create intricate designs using various tools including pens, brushes transfers and stencils
- How to develop your skills to create your own design patterns and drawings
- How to develop techniques you have learnt to create personalised items at home or commercially.
This is a tutor led course. However, students can choose their own project in week 8 and 9.
This course is designed as a next step from Small craft making 1 or people who have some experience of crafting at home. introductory course and no previous skills or experience is required.
You must be aged 19+ and be able to complete a short workbook on a weekly basis with the help of your tutor.
The cost of the course is £90.00. However, you will not be required to pay a fee for this course if you are in receipt of one of the following benefits:
- Universal Credit
- JSA or ESA (Employment and Support Allowance Work Related Action Group)
There will be no fees if you earn less than £25,750.
You can only complete this course once.
On completion of this course, you may progress onto Introduction to Crafting and Upcycling course or one of the other Adult Engagement and Progression courses.
Your tutor will advise and discuss the various progression routes available to you. You can also access the College Careers Team to support your progression.
Apply online via the College website. You will be contacted to attend an interview if required or sent a conditional offer according to the course's entry requirements. You will then be invited to enroll for your chosen course.
