Ceramics - Design and Practice

This seven-week course is at St Margaret's campus. It meets every Thursday from 1 pm to 4 pm. The course starts on 13 March and ends on 8 May 2025. This course is for those who have finished a beginner ceramics course at Leicester College. We will practice hand-building techniques. Then, we will experiment and refine our skills. You’ll research and design pieces independently, with help from the tutor. The first sessions will cover basic techniques like coiling, pinch-pot, and slabbing. We’ll also discuss health and safety in the workshop. After that, you’ll pick a technique and work toward a project within the time allowed. You’ll use a sketchbook to develop and record your ideas.
