This is a short course for adults (19+) to help you prepare for the content covered on a Functional Skills Mathematics qualification.
This class is based at Abbey Park Campus on a Thursday from 12.30-2.30pm for seven weeks, starting 9th May.
You will learn in a supportive environment, with experienced teachers.
Our maths and English courses are suitable for people who want to increase their confidence, improve their chances at work or to get a job, and to help their children.
You do not need to have any previous qualifications. After applying, you will need to attend a session where you will complete an assessment to help us decide whether this is the right course for you.
You must be able to attend every session of the course, as well as completing independent study.
You must be 19 before the 31st August 2023 You cannot have previously achieved a grade 4 or above (or equivalent) in GCSE Mathematics; please check your eligibility before applying.
This course will lead to a Functional Skills Maths course of the appropriate level for yourself.
Successful achievement of a Functional Skills course will allow you to progress onto a higher level of Functional Skills or apply for GCSE maths. It would also help you if you are considering applying for an apprenticeship. It may improve your chances of getting work or progressing within work, or moving onto other courses, this will enable you to support your children more effectively.
Apply online using the course code C7715. You will then be invited for an initial assessment. Once you have taken this you will either be offered a place on the course or given further advice and guidance about your options.
