This Unvented Hot Water assessment is an assessment programme for fully-qualified engineers who want to hold a full unvented qualification as part of their portfolio of qualifications. This is a full-day assessment and training programme that will bring existing knowledge up to date and guarantee compliance with the building regulations that set out the mandatory requirements for all unvented installations.

This is a full cost course. There is no fee remission available and you cannot apply for an advanced learner loan to pay for your fees.

Candidates are sent a self-study pack prior to attending the course. The actual course is a training presentation and demonstration, followed by a practical visual assessment and multiple choice theory exam. After completing the course, candidates will be able to apply for accredited status to install unvented units, allowing them to self-certificate their installations, without the need for building control prior approval (conditions apply).

Applicants are required to hold or be working towards a level 3 qualification in plumbing or related subject, or provide a letter detailing their experience in the industry.

There may be an additional examination registration fee of approximately £40.00 if applicable.

If you are 24 or over and don't already have a full level 3 qualification (2 A levels or equivalent) there will be no course fees for this course. Simply apply by clicking apply now at the top of the page

Individuals will be able to join a suitable self certification body (example NICEIC or BPEC), which will enable the engineer to self certify their installation work and guarantee their work complyies with Building Regulations. By holding the unvented hot water qualification, engineers will have formal recognition of their installation knowledge and skills.

Apply online via the College website. You will be contacted to attend an interview if required, or you will be sent a conditional offer according to the entry requirements for the course. You will then be invited in to enrol for your chosen course of study. For enrol and pay courses: Once you have decided to take the course, you need to fill in a short learner details form online and pay the course fee. Once you have done this, you will receive an electronic confirmation of enrolment and payment.
