Looking to develop your skills while fitting learning around your existing commitments? This flexible online course allows you to study at your own pace, whenever it suits you. With year-round enrolment, you can start straight away, and submission dates can be adjusted to fit your schedule.

Ideal for anyone working with children, this course will help you build your knowledge of allergens, allergies and food intolerances, understand food labelling requirements, recognise the signs of an allergic reaction, and respond safely and confidently, including basic first aid. You'll gain practical knowledge that can be applied in everyday settings while earning a recognised qualification to strengthen your CV.

This qualification is completed online using a learning platform containing all the learning and assessment materials. A tutor will review your work and provide feedback and guidance as required to support your successful completion of this qualification.

There are 3 units as part of this course.

Unit 1: Allergens, allergies and intolerances
Unit 2: Food labelling and packaging
Unit 3: Allergy awareness for those working with children.

You need to be over 19, and not currently studying any other government-funded course.

There are some funding eligibility requirements - we can't provide funding in some areas of England and you must be a British Citizen or have settled status, you must also be living in England.
On application we will check your eligibility and will signpost you to alternatives should be unable to fund you on this occasion.

Annual Tuition fee: £0

Please note that, upon successful completion of your course, you will receive an e-certificate by email. Printed certificates are not provided as standard.
Awarding organisations have moved away from issuing physical certificates to support environmental sustainability, reduce their carbon footprint, and make it easier to obtain a replacement certificate if required.
If you would like a printed certificate, this can be requested at a cost of £46, payable by the learner.
