“I knew that I didn’t want to do A levels and T Levels offer an equivalent qualification and area.

“I’ve struggled in the past with my own mental health and received support from the healthcare sector so wanted to train to do that myself.

“I’m very much a hands-on learner so really enjoyed the placement and classroom work. The College’s facilities are amazing with a mock hospital ward which helped me to gain practical experience of simulated patient working.

“My placement was at New Parks Community Centre where I ran groups. I’ve secured a job at the Bradgate Unit at Glenfield Hospital as a Clinical Assistant, so it’s great to go straight into employment.

“The course provides hands on experience, with a pathway into work after, rather than higher education. It was a really positive experience – the tutors were supportive and I received good career guidance.

“Although it’s a new course, it was provided in the best way possible.”
