Anfisa’s award-winning photography
Anfisa Denysenko has been following her passion for photography from the age of seven when she was given her first camera and “fell in love”.
Anfisa says: “My mother was fashion designer, so I grew up in a creative environment. I love all photography and art; how it enables us to create something beautiful. That was a key inspiration for taking the Photography Level 3 course at Leicester College.”
Ideal course for creative students
Anfisa continues: “It’s a really good course and I would highly recommend it to creative individuals. It really is the best college!
“I enjoy working with models and architecture. I’ve had the chance to explore different techniques and styles, and the equipment is up to industry standards.”
Recognised with award for photography
Students from Leicester College recently had the opportunity to showcase their work in the ‘Open: The People’s Exhibition’ at Leicester Museum and Art Gallery. Not only was Anfisa’s work featured in the exhibition, but she also won the Leicester Lo-fi Photography Prize for architectural composition.
Leicester Lo-Fi Photography promotes fine art and traditional photographic processes. The organisation presented Anfisa with a certificate, camera film and a chance to attend a photography workshop.
“I’m delighted to win the award for the work that I submitted through Leicester College. I used shots of ceilings, manipulated into a collage using Photoshop to create a unique architectural composition,” explains Anfisa.
Exercising creativity
Anfisa continues: “I’m passionate about capturing the modern world through film and photography. I hope to continue to exercise my creativity and after completing my course at Leicester College, and plan to go on to study a creative subject at university.”
